Presenter: Alicia Taverner. MA Clinical Psychology, LMFT

Course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.  Registrants must attend the full 2 hours to receive CEs..

This presentation will include a discussion on the process of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy as a catalyst for change. The discussion will include research findings on the topic of KAP, the ways in which Ketamine can be administered, and various modalities for working with clients using KAP. I will discuss typical diagnoses clients present with for which KAP is a good fit. 

The presentation will also include discussion on the KAP process which includes the importance of psychedelic integration and I will provide 1-2 case studies from my clinical experience to share with the group. 

Descriptive Narrative:

I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and owner of Rancho Counseling, a boutique group practice. For the past 15 years I have specialized in working with couples to help them improve their communication, intimacy, and trust. In 2022 I began my own journey and training in the realm of psychedelic healing under the guidance of a highly trained facilitator and shaman. I completed training through Journey Clinical and Fluence on Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Methodology and Psychedelic Integration and have been working with individuals and couples in my own practice using KAP for almost a year now.  

objectives:

 In successfully completing and attending this presentation participants will be able to: 

  • State one reason researchers believe KAP may make psychotherapy more effective 
  • Identify two of the most popular routes of administration for Ketamine Therapy
  • Ability to define, “psychedelic integration
  • Recall at least 2 important factors that help create a positive dosing session experience for clients

Alicia Taverner is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice with 13+ years of experience as a practice owner. Experience in providing group, individual, and family therapy. Specializes in working with couples, infidelity recovery, Brainspotting for trauma and Ketamine Assisted Therapy and psychedelic integration.
